SIDEWALKS AND SKYWAYS

The Midtown Parking Garage closed to the public on September 30, 2008.  All pedestrian skyway access to the Midtown Parking Garage has closed including the pavilion at southeast corner of Clinton Avenue and Broad Street.

The pavilion was constructed to provide skyway access from the Xerox, Frontier and Bausch & Lomb buildings to the Midtown Parking Garage.  The pavilion connection was maintained and operated by an adjacent private property owner. When the garage closed, the property owner was not obligated to maintain the pavilion connection.  Once the Midtown Garage reopens, it is the intent of the City to reopen the pavilion.  A schedule for reopening of the garage and pavilion has not yet been developed.

In the near future, portions of the sidewalks adjacent to Midtown Plaza will be fenced in anticipation of the commencement of asbestos remediation and demolition.  The date the fencing will be installed will be posted on this website as soon as it is confirmed.  A map showing the areas to be fenced-off will also be posted on the website and updated regularly.
